The 2001 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT is a car that many people dream about having. It just punches through with Mustang coolness.

It sports a 4.6L DOHC V8 with 320 horse power. The engine is longitudinally mounted with a 90 degree V8 cast aluminum block and heads, iron cylinder liners, fully counter weighted forged crankshaft. Bore x stroke 90.2mm 90.0 mm. Displacement 4,601cc with a compression ratio of 9.85.

In addition torque is 317 lb-ft at 4,750 rpm. Specific output is 69.6 horsepower per liter. Redline is 6,800 rpm. Valvetrain had double overhead camshafts and more.

This car is still a favorite of so many people as only about 15,800 were produced between 1999 and 2001. The guys got it just because it was a chick magnate and the girls got it because it was a guy magnate. Others bought it because it is a Mustang and they had bought from that line for years. Mustangs are like that. Families that bought them in the 1960s traditionally followed the brand. When this version came out and the upgrades and changes from the 1999 version were completed this model just became a favorite.

It's all due to the Mustang style. The options of the design overall and the interiors, the power of the engines and how the tributes to the early pony cars still remain somewhat in the later models like the 2000 Cobra R. The successor to the 2001 like the 2003-2004 models improved on many functions but still had that Mustang taste and feel. They included a cast iron block instead of the aluminum.

It doesn't matter because a Mustang is Mustang. It will catch the eye and make a statement. Fans of these cars also break off into sub groups for each model and even certain parts. You'll find them talking about the SVT Cobra with great detail. The number of units produced was so low that they appear rare whenever they show up on the road.
