The Best Classic Car Shows

We all love classic cars and we love working on our own prized cars, but some of the best places to get inspiration are classic car shows. With plenty of new ideas for customizations using after market auto parts and perfect restorations with old stock parts, there is no better environment than car shows. But, where is the best one?

In the opinions of many, the best car show in the US is the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. This event is held at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca every August. There are plenty of cars to drool over as they are used for their intended purpose on the track. In 2011 there were over 550 classic cars at the event so there is no shortage in any category. This event is a part of the Monterey Classic Car Week, which contains a lot of smaller events that are all well worth experiencing. This is a great time and place to find new parts for your old cars that are custom made for restoration jobs. France is home to one of the best car shows in the world. The Retromobile is easily the best classic car show in Europe and some people travel clear across the globe to be there. Over 250 presenters and 70,000 guests were present for the 5 day event last February and there is no sign of slowing down any time soon. This event will be firing on all cylinders this year and I am excited to see what comes of it.

Lastly, we have the Footman James Classic Motor Show. This is the car show in the UK and with good reason. With the event being held every autumn at the national Exhibition Center in Birmingham, visitors are able to see over 1,200 cars on display. That makes this one of the most popular car shows in the world.

So, which of these car shows reign supreme as the best car show in the world? It’s hard to say. If you’re not looking to ship a car across the globe or buy a plane ticket to look at cars few of us can afford outright, it’s the one within driving distance that you have the most fun at.
